Opposition Criticised for Rejecting MoU Aimed at Curbing 3R Rhetoric

The opposition’s rejection of the proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has sparked controversy, with leaders portraying it as an attempt to silence them. However, Senator Datuk Seri Dr. Mujahid Yusof Rawa argues the real goal of the MoU is to curb divisive rhetoric and foster responsible debate. He criticized PN’s outright refusal, claiming it reveals the “true face” of some PN leaders who are using this issue for political gain. Dr. Mujahid also noted that the rejection harms first-time PN MPs, robbing them of the opportunity to contribute to a more responsible and mature parliamentary democracy.
