Pakistan Nominates Trump for Nobel Peace Prize Over India-Pakistan Truce

Pakistan has formally nominated U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, crediting his diplomatic intervention in brokering a truce between India and Pakistan in May 2025, amid the worst regional clashes since 1971.

Islamabad praised Trump’s leadership in preventing a broader nuclear conflict, calling his efforts a testament to peace-driven diplomacy. While Pakistan hailed the U.S. role, India maintained the truce was a result of bilateral dialogue. 

Trump, often touting himself as a global peacemaker, voiced skepticism over ever receiving the Nobel despite his interventions in conflicts involving Israel, Iran, and Ukraine. The Norwegian Nobel Committee will decide the winner.
