MELAKA, Aug 31, 2026 – Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) recent defeats in the Johor and Negeri Sembilan state elections should not be seen as the end of the coalition’s struggle, said Adam Adli Abdul Halim, acting chairman of PH Melaka.
Speaking after the launch of PKR’s Hang Tuah Jaya election machinery, Adam described the losses as a “wake-up call” and motivation to achieve bigger victories. He noted PH’s history of setbacks in by-elections and state polls, but reminded supporters that the coalition twice won federal power in general elections.
PH defeat
Adam acknowledged PH’s poor showing in the 2021 Melaka state election, but highlighted the turnaround in GE15, where PH secured parliamentary seats in the state while BN was left without representation. He stressed that voter support is conditional, shaped by governance, cost of living, and sincerity in serving the people.
“PH is not just about winning elections, but about saving the rakyat,” he said.
