Perikatan Nasional (PN) Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden dismissed claims of stagnant economic growth in Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, and Perlis, stating these states have seen yearly growth despite limited federal support.

Responding to PKR vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad’s criticism, Afnan argued PN had proven its governance capabilities during its 30-month tenure in government. He highlighted lower living costs and aid initiatives under PN leadership.
However, Afnan provided no data to substantiate his claims. He urged the federal government to ease investment processes and approvals to support economic development in opposition-led states.
