A family of four, including a 15-year-old boy, was accused of shoplifting at a supermarket in Jempol, Negeri Sembilan, after staff discovered packets of black pepper sauce and mayonnaise worth RM41 in the teenager’s bag. 

RM41 Theft Incident Sparks Public Outrage After Viral Video

A confrontation was recorded and went viral online, showing the parents pleading with staff and the father allegedly attacking a security guard. The family fled the scene by car. The teen later surrendered to police and was released on bail. 

The case is being investigated under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955, which carries a maximum fine of RM100 upon conviction.
