Sabah’s 40% Revenue Claim Decision Expected Before Malaysia Day

A decision on Sabah’s 40% revenue entitlement under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) is expected before Malaysia Day on September 16. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said Sabah has submitted proposed solutions to the MA63 Technical Committee, which he chairs.

Sabah’s 40% Revenue Claim Decision Expected Before Malaysia Day

The proposals will be presented to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim before the next meeting on September 12. The committee aims to resolve the matter outside of court, despite an ongoing case filed by the Sabah Law Society. Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Jeffrey Kitingan called the discussions productive, with the proposals now under federal review.
