RM89.7 Million Allocated to Support Non-Muslim Places of Worship Since 2023

The Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT) has allocated RM89.7 million over two years to support 766 non-Muslim places of worship (RIBI) such as temples, churches, and shrines. In 2025 alone, RM40.8 million has been disbursed to 336 RIBI, representing 81.5% of the RM50 million annual allocation.

Minister Nga Kor Ming said the initiative promotes national unity and cultural harmony, aligning with the MADANI government’s inclusive values. Nearly 2,400 applications totaling RM409 million have been received since 2024. Eligible RIBI can apply online, with funding capped at RM250,000. All projects are monitored monthly and reviewed by a national taskforce.
