Roti Canai Seller Farhan Wins Malaysian Singing Competition

Malaysian roti canai hawker, Farhan Mustapha, achieved his lifelong dream by winning the TikTok LIVE X Astro Gimme The Mic Malaysia singing competition. After 12 years of participating in various contests like Bintang RTM and Akademi Fantasia, Farhan finally clinched the title on September 15, 2024, at the CIDB Convention Centre in Cheras. His heartfelt performances and powerful vocals moved both the audience and judges, especially renowned Indonesian singer Bunga Citra Lestari. Farhan took home RM10,000, a US$2,000 prize, and a recording contract. His journey began by sharing song covers on TikTok while working as a hawker.
