Driver faces charges after deadly Temerloh tanker crash
The crash occurred on August 14 at about 4pm along KM9 of Jalan Temerloh-Triang. The victims, a 39-year-old mother and her 12-year-old son, were killed after the car they were travelling in was involved in the collision with the tanker, which was carrying 32,000 litres of fuel.
If convicted, the driver faces between five and 10 years in prison and a fine of between RM20,000 and RM50,000 for each charge.
The court granted bail of RM10,000 for the two charges and fixed October 1 for the next mention. The case highlights continuing concerns over road safety involving heavy vehicles and fuel tankers.
