PUTRAJAYA, March 18, 2025 – Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said no decision has been made on reinstating travel bans for PTPTN borrowers who fail to repay their loans. Speaking after the Ihya’ Ramadan event with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Zambry emphasized a holistic approach to boost repayment rates, noting travel restrictions aren’t the only solution. “We need to assess all factors to improve collections, including reminders and agents, not just bans,” he told reporters. The ministry aims to balance enforcement with practical measures to encourage borrowers to settle their outstanding debts.
