Umno is irrelevant with Najib hence it can leave Madani: Activist

KUALA LUMPUR – Political activist Iswardy Morni has criticised Umno’s ultimatum to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim over Najib Razak’s house arrest addendum, saying the party risks irrelevance for prioritising a convicted leader. “Stop threatening. Just leave the government,” he wrote on Facebook, adding that Umno will continue to sink if it clings to Najib. Last night, 145 Umno branch leaders nationwide met to pressure Anwar to enforce the royal order allowing Najib to serve his sentence under house arrest. They urged party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to discuss the matter with Anwar but issued no clear ultimatum to Zahid.
