PETALING JAYA, Oct 11, 2026: PAS should allocate one-third of the seats in the four states it controls to Umno if both parties intend to sustain political cooperation in future elections, according to Umno Supreme Council member Nur Jazlan Mohamed.
The Pulai Umno chief said PAS does not need to contest every seat in Terengganu, Kelantan, Kedah and Perlis, arguing that retaining two-thirds would still secure its position while demonstrating sincerity towards Malay unity.

Nur Jazlan said such a move would show PAS has confidence in its partnership with Umno and is committed to cooperation between the two parties.
He also suggested Umno could help improve PAS’s image among non-Malay voters, particularly Chinese voters who remain concerned about personal freedoms under PAS-led administrations.
According to Nur Jazlan, Umno’s influence could help present PAS as a more moderate and flexible political partner, while strengthening support among voters focused on economic opportunities, jobs and overall well-being.
