1 min read

SINGAPORE – Mo Xuekui, 44, lost her appeal against a conviction and 14-month jail sentence for procuring a woman for prostitution, managing a brothel, and living on immoral earnings. The High Court dismissed her appeal on March 18, ruling that Mo failed to prove a worker’s testimony against her was unreliable.

The worker had reported Mo for instructing her to provide sexual services at a Carpenter Street parlour. Mo argued the worker acted out of self-interest, but prosecutors said she risked deportation by reporting. The judge upheld the conviction, rejecting Mo’s claims of only part-time involvement.
