Health Minister Dr. Zaliha Mustafa has assured that the long-delayed anti-smoking and vape control bill, known as the Control of Smoking Products for Public Health Bill, will be tabled before the current Parliament session concludes on Nov 30. This comes in response to criticism from former Health Minister Khairy Jamaludin, who accused several ministers of blocking the bill, calling the cabinet’s handling “absolutely shambolic.”

Zaliha Promises
The bill, authored by Khairy, includes measures to control nicotine products and introduces the Generational End Game (GEG), preventing those born from 2007 onwards from buying tobacco or nicotine products. The Cabinet recently decided to remove clauses related to the GEG ban, citing constitutional concerns.
