The 2024 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) results marked the best national performance since 2013, with a National Average Grade (GPK) of 4.49, improving from 4.60 in 2023. Education Director-General Datuk Azman Adnan announced that 355,933 candidates—94% of students—qualified for the SPM certificate, up from 349,297 the previous year.
2024 SPM Results Hit Highest Performance Since 2013
This represents an increase of 6,636 candidates or 0.5%. It’s the highest achievement since 2013, when the requirement to pass Bahasa Melayu and History to receive the certificate was implemented. Azman praised the improvement as a milestone in the education system’s continued effort to enhance student outcomes nationwide.
