Tensions escalated in Melaka’s State Election (PRN) as Umno Youth Chief Dr. Muhamad Akmal Saleh questioned whether DAP Jasin’s recent statement hinted at fielding candidates in Merlimau or other Jasin parliamentary seats. “Does DAP Jasin want to contest Merlimau or any DUN seat? Like the DAP Melaka Youth Chief’s suggestion? Go ahead, we’re waiting. We’ll fight to the finish,” he said. Akmal, often linked to controversial statements was responding to DAP Jasin branches for a unity government candidate in the seat.
