Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said a decision on Rafizi Ramli’s replacement as economy minister will be made later, following the latter’s resignation after losing in the PKR central leadership election. Anwar praised Rafizi’s service and expressed hope that both Rafizi and Natural Resources Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad would reconsider stepping down. “Ideally, I want both of them to return,” Anwar told reporters in Kuala Lumpur. The duo submitted resignation letters in late May. Anwar, who also serves as finance minister, said he is giving them time before officially naming successors for the vacated cabinet positions.
