The story of cleaning worker M. Kavita, who spent more than 12 years working through difficult conditions to raise her five children, has touched Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Anwar said her sacrifices and hard work had ultimately paid off as all five of her children went on to succeed in their respective fields.

Anwar shared Kavita’s story in a Facebook post, highlighting the dedication she showed while working as a cleaning worker to support her family.
Her story gained attention after her children surprised her on her 50th birthday while she was at work, with each appearing in their respective professional uniforms.
The Prime Minister also expressed appreciation to Kavita and cleaning workers nationwide for their contribution to maintaining public cleanliness and wellbeing.
Kavita was recognised with a Special Award at the 2026 Cleaning Workers Appreciation Day organised by SWCorp, highlighting the dignity and importance of their work.
