KUALA LUMPUR, July 21, 2026 – Former MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki has distanced himself from a RM178.29 million contract awarded to Integriti Padu Sdn Bhd, a company chaired by his brother Datuk Nasir Baki. Azam said his brother’s business dealings were unrelated to him, stressing he had retired and the award was solely the Transport Ministry’s decision.

He defended his family against scrutiny, noting their professional reputations. The Edge reported Integriti Padu will develop and operate the Road Charge and Vehicle Entry Permit (RC/VEP) system at the Malaysia‑Singapore border for six years.
