The Malaysian Bar has called for an urgent independent investigation into the fatal police shooting of three men — M. Puspanathan, 21, T. Poovaneswaran, 24, and G. Logeswaran, 29 — in Durian Tunggal, Melaka. President Datuk Mohamad Ezri Abdul Wahab warned that public trust in law enforcement will keep eroding without full transparency.

Conflicting narratives have emerged, fuelled by a leaked audio clip and a forensic report commissioned by the families’ lawyers that reportedly contradicts the official police account. The Bar stressed that all evidence, including bodycam footage, firearm reports and forensic material, must be preserved and independently examined to establish the truth.
