Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim hopes Budget 2027 will strengthen Malaysia’s economy while easing financial pressure on the people as the government prepares to table the Fifth MADANI Budget.
Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, said he wants the budget to create more opportunities and ensure the benefits of national development are distributed more fairly across society.
Budget 2027
Anwar made the remarks after inspecting final preparations for the budget at the Finance Ministry in Putrajaya on Thursday. He also thanked ministry officials for their work in preparing the measures ahead of its tabling in the Dewan Rakyat.
The prime minister previously said the budget would be guided by a commitment to strengthening the economy while ensuring economic growth translates into a better quality of life for Malaysians.
Budget 2027 is scheduled to be tabled at 3.30pm on Friday, with Malaysians expected to watch closely for measures affecting household finances, businesses and economic opportunities.
The government faces the challenge of supporting those struggling with living costs while maintaining fiscal discipline and sustaining economic growth. Anwar has stressed that development should benefit all segments of society rather than being concentrated among selected groups.
