In Seremban today, a private university’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Noraini Aripin, pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court to charges of criminal breach of trust involving RM6.56 million.
The 55‑year‑old was accused of misusing company funds between September 2025 and April this year, allegedly diverting payments meant for ad valorem duties to the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN).

The charge was brought under Section 409 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years’ imprisonment, whipping, and a fine if convicted.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Syairah Aqilah Khalil proposed bail of RM100,000 with two guarantors, alongside conditions requiring Noraini to surrender her passport and report monthly to the Negeri Sembilan MACC office.
Defense lawyer Kelvin Ong requested bail be reduced to RM50,000, citing Noraini’s health condition — stage three breast cancer — her ongoing private hospital treatment, her role as a mother of five, and her monthly income of RM15,000.
Judge M Kunasundary Marimuthu set bail at RM80,000 with two guarantors, while approving all prosecution conditions.
The case will be mentioned again on September 21, as Noraini awaits trial for one of the largest alleged breach of trust cases involving a Malaysian private university.
