DBKL Officers Charged for Allegedly Soliciting and Accepting Bribes

DBKL, maimunah DBKL Ordered to Pay RM824,180 After Fallen Tree Kills Motorcyclist

A Deputy Director and an Enforcement Officer from Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) were charged in the Sessions Court today with two counts of soliciting and accepting bribes from an unlicensed entertainment centre operator.

Muhammad Irwan Abdullah, 44, and Zahari Mohamad, 34, pleaded not guilty. The charges involve soliciting RM200,000 monthly in February from the operator to avoid legal action. They also allegedly accepted RM160,000 in bribes. 

If convicted, they face up to 20 years in prison and fines. The court set bail at RM15,000 each and imposed conditions, including monthly reporting to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
