FOXBOROUGH, June 7 – France’s Ousmane Dembele struck a stunning first‑half hat‑trick to seal a 4‑1 victory over Norway and secure top spot in World Cup Group I. The 2018 champions nearly scored within 25 seconds when Kylian Mbappe’s fierce shot rattled the crossbar, before the captain set up Dembele for the opener in the seventh minute.

The 29‑year‑old added a second with a fine finish in the 20th minute, though Norway, resting star striker Erling Haaland, pulled one back through Thelo Aasgaard moments later. Dembele completed his treble in the 32nd minute, while Jorgen Strand Larsen missed a penalty early in the second half as France cruised to victory.
