Durian, once considered among Malaysia’s most expensive fruits, has seen its market price plunge to record lows in recent days. In response, FAMA introduced a RM2.70 floor price to safeguard farmers from losses.
However, the absence of a ceiling price has sparked discontent among netizens, who argue the policy leaves consumers vulnerable and fails to address wider concerns about fairness in the durian trade.

Netizens feel that there needs to be a ceiling cap for the maximum prices of fruits as well. There were times where inflation has hit local produce, leaving many feeling the pinch while buying simple things such as fruits.
Such proposals may be in place for the musang king and black thorn as the Agricultural Ministry might consider it.
