PUTRAJAYA – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim claimed there were elements of “betrayal” in the political cooperation in Negeri Sembilan, which forced the state government to hold its election earlier than expected. He explained that such betrayal referred to actions undermining the agreed political stability in the state.
Elements of Betrayal
Anwar stressed that cooperation must be free from treachery, citing efforts to destabilize Negeri Sembilan despite its stable politics and economy. He made the remarks after officiating the 10th Annual General Meeting of Koperasi Profesional Putrajaya Bhd (Koprojaya).
His comments followed UMNO President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s denial that UMNO was behind the dissolution of the Negeri Sembilan government.
