US and Iran Reach Framework Deal to End War

The United States and Iran announced an agreement on a framework to end their war, lift U.S. sanctions, and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, sparking a sharp drop in oil prices. President Donald Trump confirmed the deal on Truth Social, shortly after Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, acting as mediator, revealed the breakthrough. 

Strait of Hormuz Reopens Under New Agreement

A memorandum of understanding will be signed in Switzerland on Friday, with nuclear issues left for later talks. Iran’s deputy foreign minister said broader negotiations would follow during a 60‑day ceasefire. The pact demands an immediate halt to military operations, including in Lebanon, though Israel has not responded.
