Former Sabah infrastructure development minister Peter Anthony has run out of legal avenues to challenge his conviction for falsifying documents after the Court of Appeal dismissed his review application today. A three-judge panel ruled there was no miscarriage of justice, affirming the findings of the lower courts. Peter was convicted in 2022 for forging a Universiti Malaysia Sabah letter linked to a 2014 maintenance contract, receiving a three-year jail term and a RM50,000 fine. He has paid the fine but now faces imprisonment. His assemblyperson status will be determined once the court’s final decision is formally communicated.
