In a rare alignment, PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari publicly supported Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s stance on the Dewi Sri Pathrakaliamman Temple land dispute. Anwar had asserted the temple, built without permission on private land, must be relocated legally, a view Fadhli endorsed on Facebook. “It’s not religious, it’s legal—illegal structures must go,” Fadhli wrote, echoing Anwar’s call for law-based governance. Anwar cited past demolitions of illegal mosques and surau, like those in Lahad Datu and Sentul, to underline impartiality. The PAS leader’s backing bolstered Anwar’s position, urging an end to such controversies through strict adherence to property laws.
