Father Jailed 13 Years for Killing Daughter’s Rapist

TAWAU, Oct 2, 2026, An Indonesian man was sentenced to 13 years in jail after pleading guilty to culpable homicide not amounting to murder for causing the death of his 12-year-old daughter’s rapist.

The 30-year-old confronted the 33-year-old attacker with a parang, chasing him into a chicken coop before slashing him several times on Aug. 31, 2024. The victim died within hours. A hospital examination confirmed the girl had fresh injuries, while DNA evidence matched semen found on her clothing to the deceased.

Initially charged with murder, the case was later amended to culpable homicide. The sentence takes effect from Sept. 2, 2024, the date of his arrest. He faces referral to the Immigration Department after serving his term.
