Leeds United ended Tottenham Hotspur’s three-match winning run on Saturday (Nov 7), as substitute Noah Okafor struck late to secure a 1-0 home win at Elland Road, media reported. It was the first of Saturday’s Premier League results, with Daniel Farke’s side beating Roberto De Zerbi’s Tottenham.

Okafor seals Leeds win over Spurs

The game was goalless at half-time. Tottenham lost forward Mathys Tel to injury before the break after a challenge from Leeds defender Jayden Bogle. Dutch outlet VoetbalPrimeur reported that VAR checked the incident but did not advise the referee to review it, saying Bogle escaped a possible red card. Vietnamese site Bongda said Dominic Solanke came on for Tel.

After the restart, Leeds midfielder Ao Tanaka hit the crossbar, while Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky saved a shot from Sean Longstaff inside the box, according to Bongda.

Okafor was sent on in the 77th minute alongside Harry Wilson, VoetbalPrimeur reported, and moments later he seized on a loose ball after a lapse in the Tottenham defence. Bongda timed the goal in the 79th minute, while VoetbalPrimeur said Okafor fired into the right corner after the ball came to him off Rodrigo Bentancur.

Tottenham pushed for an equaliser, and a late header from defender Jan Paul van Hecke was kept out by Leeds goalkeeper James Trafford.

VoetbalPrimeur reported that the win lifts Leeds to eighth place on 14 points, while Tottenham remain on 12 points after 10 matches.

Premier League results: Everton beat Coventry

On Friday (Nov 6), Thierno Barry scored twice and provided an assist as Everton came from behind to beat Coventry City 3-1 at Hill Dickinson Stadium, Sky Sports reported.

Coventry took the lead early in the second half through Yann Gboho in the 52nd minute. Barry levelled with a header a few minutes later and then added his second goal just after the hour.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall sealed the win with nine minutes left after a pass from Barry, according to Sky Sports, which said Coventry had three VAR decisions go against them during the match.

Sky Sports said the victory moved David Moyes’ Everton up to fifth place, above Liverpool.
