The Federal Court today dismissed Najib Tun Razak’s preliminary objection against the Attorney-General’s (AG) appeal involving a disputed royal document that allegedly permits him to serve his prison sentence under house arrest.

A three-judge panel led by Chief Judge of Malaya Tan Sri Hasnah Mohammed Hashim ruled that the AG’s seven legal questions are justiciable and subject to judicial review. Federal Court judges Datuk Zabariah Mohd Yusof and Datuk Hanipah Farikullah concurred.
The court has set the hearing for the AG’s appeal to proceed tomorrow. The case stems from an earlier ruling that granted the AG leave to appeal.
