Five Malaysian Women Make Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Asia 2026 List

Five Malaysian business leaders have been named on Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Asia 2026 list, with UOB Malaysia chief executive officer Ng Wei Wei emerging as the country’s highest-ranked representative at No. 85.

She was followed by Berjaya Corp Bhd chief executive officer Nerine Tan Sheik Ping at No. 91 and Sunway Group executive deputy chair Datin Paduka Sarena Cheah at No. 92. 

Malaysian Women Leaders Gain Recognition in Fortune’s 2026 Asia Power Ranking

Affin Bank Bhd group chief financial officer Joanne Rodrigues ranked 99th, while Public Bank Bhd chief financial officer Yik Sook Ling took 100th place.

Malaysia increased its representation from four executives in Fortune’s 2025 ranking to five this year. Ng also improved her position by 10 places, moving from 95th to 85th. 

Fortune’s third annual ranking recognises 100 women based on factors including leadership, business performance, career trajectory, influence, innovation and wider societal impact.

Malaysia’s five honourees were joined by representatives from across the region, including 18 from mainland China, 16 from Hong Kong and 12 from Singapore. DBS Group CEO Tan Su Shan retained the top position, while technology was the most represented sector with 16 executives.
