GOF Cracks Down on Illegal Hunting, Arrests Six

Six men, aged 35 to 61, were arrested by the General Operations Force (GOF) during an operation in Lanchang, Pahang. They were apprehended in a four-wheel-drive vehicle at Pongsoi Mukim Semantan plantation.

An inspection revealed a Remington 879 Express Magnum shotgun, 81 live bullets, and other hunting equipment without valid documents. The items, valued at RM10,810, were used for illegal hunting in Kemasul Forest Reserve. The case is under Section 8 of the Firearms Act 1971.

GOF Southeast Brigade commander Datuk Nik Ros Azhan Ab Hamid stated efforts to curb illegal hunting will continue.
