Alleged US Plot, negeri sembilan exco, broken PN, PAS Directive

TERENGGANU, Sept 19, 2026, PAS President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang has pledged to present evidence in court to substantiate his claim that the United States offered assistance to topple the Barisan Nasional government in 2014.

Speaking after a police session in Rusila, Hadi said prosecution decisions rest with the Attorney General, but insisted the proper forum to prove his allegations is in court. “Leave it to the Attorney General to determine prosecution; we have proof to present in court,” he told reporters.

Alleged US Plot

The Marang MP is being investigated under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for public mischief and improper network use. His remarks at the PAS Muktamar alleged that US officials made the offer during then-President Barack Obama’s visit to Malaysia.

The US Embassy has firmly denied the claims. Chargé d’Affaires ad interim David H. Gamble Jr. stated: “The United States has never sought to determine Malaysia’s political leadership. Any account to the contrary is false.”

The controversy continues to draw scrutiny as police investigations proceed.
