Japanese Fans Clean Up The Stadium After Japan Beats Germany 2-1

1 min read

Celebrations and joy can come later it seems for Japanese fans who after their country created another shock in the World Cup by beating Germany 2-1, started to clean up the stadium instead of celebrating the victory.

Despite their own team not playing in the opening WC match, photos posted online showed Japanese fans cleaning the stadium while holding onto blue plastic bags as they looked for trash left behind to bag.

There was a moment of silence in Khalifa International Stadium following Takuma Asano’s second goal for Japan against Germany in their World Cup debut. German fans who were in disbelief at what had just occurred could not believe it. The Japanese players awaited the possibility of an offside call with patience. And they exploded with joy after the goal was allowed!
