There are popular misconceptions towards Japanese people especially in western countries. For the most part, westerners would automatically assume any Asian person as someone from the bigger countries in this region. However, most who emigrate to the west are typically from Southeast Asia.

Furthermore, TikTok commenters state that this reminds them of how Scary Movie 4 depicted the Japanese language. There is a scene in the movie where the ghost child was yelling random brand names from the likes of Nissan, Cannon and food names like Sashimi.
Others state that Happy Birthday in the language would quite literally be “Happi Basudei.” For obvious reasons, that statement is a joke. According to Google, “happy birthday” in the language would be translated as “お誕生日おめでとう”, pronounced otanjoubi omedetou.
