KUALA LUMPUR 12, Aug, 2026: Police have recorded statements from about 20 people as they investigate the attack on a 62-year-old woman who was allegedly doused with petrol and set alight at a four-digit gaming outlet in Taman Pusat Kepong. Police are also reviewing closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from around the scene to identify the suspect and trace his movements. The suspect’s identity and motive remain unknown. The victim is currently receiving treatment at Kuala Lumpur Hospital.

The victim’s daughter, Joyce Yap, appealed to shop owners, businesses and residents nearby to provide CCTV footage or information that could assist the investigation. The family has identified an individual who may be linked to the incident based on available footage. Police have not confirmed the suspect’s identity, while investigations continue.
