Former Bangi MP Ong Kian Ming believes Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung has a “decent chance” of retaining his seat in GE16, even if he contests under Parti Bersama Malaysia. Ong expects PKR to drop Lee, citing his perceived ties to Rafizi Ramli, who recently took over Bersama. Ong praised Lee’s performance, noting his active presence on the ground and in Parliament.

He said Lee could win if PKR fields a relatively unknown candidate, even in a multi-cornered fight. Lee, a former Semambu assemblyman, was elected Petaling Jaya MP in 2022 and remains on PKR’s leadership council.
