Loan sharks, known as ‘Ah Longs’ in Malaysia, are feared for their bold and ruthless tactics. In a viral video shared by Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng, a man in a hood was seen placing a note on a house gate before throwing a petrol bomb into the porch, igniting flames.

Lim revealed the perpetrator acted on behalf of a Singapore-based syndicate and called the act “a shocking criminal intimidation.”
The victim has lodged a police report, and Lim urged swift action against these threats. Authorities must prevent Kuala Lumpur from becoming a hub for cross-border loan shark activities.
