MACHANG – A man in his 30s with more than 10 prior criminal records was shot after attempting to attack police officers with a machete outside Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Machang late Wednesday night. The incident occurred around 10.45pm when patrol officers approached two men on a motorcycle near an ATM.
Man Shot
The suspect suddenly drew a machete and tried to strike the officers. Police fired a warning shot, but the suspect persisted, forcing them to shoot him in the right thigh. He was later detained after trying to flee and is now receiving treatment at Machang Hospital.
