Federal Transport Minister Loke Siew Fook has clarified that the government has not made any final decision on removing fuel subsidies for high-income groups. In a video released by DAP’s official channel, The Rocket, Loke explained that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s May 10 remarks were merely a response to media questions, not a policy announcement.

He stressed that no directive exists to cut subsidies for the T20 group. Loke added that the cabinet’s recent discussions focused only on diesel subsidies, not RON95 petrol. Earlier, Anwar had said the government agreed in principle to review subsidies for the wealthy.
