KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 6, 2026: DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke has accused PAS of “backstabbing” after 10 Negeri Sembilan executive councillors were alleged to have endorsed a proclamation seeking the removal of Tuanku Muhriz as Ruler.
Addressing PAS Information Chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari, Loke said the issue should not be diverted from the actions of the 10 executive councillors.
“The main issue here is that the 10 EXCO members took their oath of loyalty before Tuanku Muhriz on Aug 7, 2026, and subsequently made a decision to endorse the Proclamation to Remove Tuanku’s Throne on Sept 16, 2026,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday. The post can be viewed in the link in the first paragraph.
Loke questioned why the councillors had been willing to take their oath of loyalty after the state election to form the state government if they did not recognise the Ruler’s position.
backstabbing
“This is an act of backstabbing,” he said.
Loke also rejected any suggestion that DAP had taken a similar position, stressing that the party would continue to uphold the principles of constitutional monarchy.
The remarks were made amid growing political controversy surrounding the alleged proclamation and the conduct of state assembly representatives.
Loke’s criticism was directed at Fadhli, who had previously raised questions over DAP’s position on the constitutional dispute.
