PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has widened its investigation into undeclared assets linked to the late Daim Zainuddin, targeting properties in the US, Singapore, Japan, Italy, and Jersey. MACC plans to secure restraining orders to prevent asset disposal during the probe, a source told Berita Harian. Last month, MACC froze £132 million worth of assets in London and Malaysia, including seven properties and a bank account linked to Daim’s family. Although a Kuala Lumpur High Court stayed the freeze order, UK authorities agreed to enforce a restraining order on related assets.
