Man Arrested Over RM168,000 Telekom Malaysia Card Theft in Melaka

A 44-year-old man was arrested in Melaka for allegedly stealing Telekom Malaysia (TM) access cards worth RM168,000, believed to have caused widespread internet disruptions across the state. The suspect was caught early Monday after a five-kilometre car chase, during which he crashed and attempted to flee on foot.

Police recovered 42 TM access cards and burglary tools from his vehicle. Investigations suggest each card could fetch RM4,000 on the black market. The suspect, who tested positive for methamphetamine and has 30 previous convictions, is also believed to be using a cloned car. He is being investigated under multiple laws.
