JOHOR BAHRU, Aug 27 — A mild earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale struck Segamat at 8.59 am today, causing tremors across parts of Johor and southern Pahang. The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said the quake’s epicentre was 18km south of Segamat, at a depth of 10km. Authorities assured continued monitoring and urged residents who felt the tremors to complete an online questionnaire to aid investigations. This follows a stronger 4.1-magnitude quake in Segamat on Aug 24, and a subsequent 2.8-magnitude tremor in Yong Peng the same day. No casualties or damage have been reported.
