In Kuala Lumpur, former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is pushing to have Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain testify in his 1MDB trial. Najib seeks clarity on ex-Goldman Sachs banker Roger Ng and former 1MDB lawyer Jasmine Loo. However, the Home Ministry plans to challenge the subpoena, arguing its purpose is unclear. Najib’s lawyer insists the IGP’s testimony is vital, citing public interest and Ng’s custody status. The defence also questions arrest warrants for Loo. Judge Datuk Collin Lawrence Sequerah set May 5 to hear the ministry’s bid to quash the subpoena.
