Former DAP MP Ong Kian Ming has defended Rafizi Ramli as the former economy minister faces investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over the government’s RM1.1 billion deal with semiconductor firm Arm Holdings. Ong argued that while the Arm deal may not have been Malaysia’s best negotiation, he did not believe Rafizi or his aide James Chai benefited financially. He praised Rafizi’s consistent stance on accountability and transparency, likening it to Reformasi-era calls for justice.
