Business woman fined RM32,000 for owning 65 fake Gucci bags
A businesswoman, received a RM32,500 fine, equivalent to six months’ imprisonment, for possessing 65 counterfeit Gucci bags last year. Judge Norina Zainol Abidin imposed the penalty after Chen pleaded guilty to the charge, which involved the sale of goods with falsely applied trademarks.
The offense, under Section 102(1)(c) of the Trademark Act 2019, carries a maximum fine of RM10,000 or three years’ imprisonment per item upon conviction.
