He said zakat is a sacred trust that must be handled with integrity and fairness for the benefit of asnaf and the needy. The call follows the arrest of three individuals linked to alleged RM230 million zakat fund misappropriation in Perlis.
PAS demanded a full, independent investigation and forensic audit to identify weaknesses and restore public confidence. Takiyuddin warned that poor governance erodes trust and ultimately harms those dependent on zakat assistance.
